Well, he did it! He survived and we survived! That was the longest, hardest, most stressful wait I have ever experienced. He was dressed in his pink and greens, as they called them. He looked so handsome dressed up in uniform. We were happy and excited, but we knew what was to come - more time away from home. He was off to AIT. This is where they focus on their job training. He was able to call us more often when he was there, so it wasn't so torturous the second time around. We knew he was going to be gone during his birthday, Halloween and possibly Thanksgiving, which was hard. He did make up for it when he came home for Christmastime. I joked and told him that he could eat turkey while wearing a Halloween costume and opening his birthday and Christmas presents. I was super proud of him, but I was glad it was all over. The emotions I felt during the time he was gone were the absolute worst.
