This dude is growing too fast. I can't keep up sometimes. Friends and school are very important to him. He loves music and art (he definitely has my artistic gene). He still hisses from time to time when spoken to, but we're working on it. His alone time is everything to him. This is a time he gathers his thoughts and gets away from all of the chaos in the house. He's a deep thinker. He's super responsible and organized. He's incredibly smart. Sometimes we think he's so smart he falls into the weird category. I've heard that extremely smart people are a bit strange. I learned that very quickly from my high school math teacher, Mr. White. He was considered a genius and he had the personality of a rock. He never smiled in the four years I was there.
Landon is kind of like that, too. He's not much of a smiler or a social bunny. He's outgoing with people he is comfortable with, but very quiet and to himself around people he either doesn't know or not comfortable with. We love him to pieces, though. He is coming into his own and learning the ways of the world. He still doesn't want to drive a car. He doesn't find it to be necessary. He also thinks we will have him run errands, so that could be the biggest deterrent. Little does he know, one day he will have to drive a car because mom and dad aren't going to play chauffeur his entire life. He is focusing on school and activities at the moment so we haven't pushed him getting a job yet. Plus, he's doing really well in school. I don't know how we did it, but we sure are lucky parents to have him as ours.
We started off with his annual birthday pictures and took pictures of him opening gifts. He said it was a great day!
