Electric Scooter

Typing this post makes me cringe.  I can still remember all of the details from this incident as if it just happened.  Liam received an electric scooter for Christmas.  He was over-the-moon excited about his new toy.  He could not wait to get it outside.  Well, he did.  I took him over to a local park where the concrete was more level and easier to ride his scooter.  He was having a blast and doing such an amazing job when he lost his balance, hit a rock, or a bump and face planted right on the concrete.  At the time I was taking pictures of him riding and I saw him lean in my camera as I was about to snap the next frame.  I ran to him.  He immediately sat up and covered his mouth with both hands.  My first thought was maybe his tooth went through his lip because when he took his hands down from his mouth, the real show began.  There was blood going everywhere.  So much that I couldn't see what was wrong until he opened his mouth and I realized he broke his front tooth.

He was panicked.  Somehow I kept my calm and told him repeatedly that he was okay.  I glanced at the ground thinking I might see the tooth, but I had to get him home.  I called the dentist to try to get him in and off we went.  The dentist put some solution on it to keep the nerve protected.  We will be making several appointments to see what the next step is.  Maybe next Christmas he can ask Santa for a front tooth...or a winning lottery ticket for mom and dad?
