good news...I think?

Liam had his ABR this morning at Kosair. It went better than planned.  However, I was bored out of my mind once Liam was sedated for his hearing test. The nurse brought in a Nintendo DS for Landon to play, Liam was carried off to a testing room, and Aaron took over Liam's bed and slept. I found myself sitting there...alone.   And, trash TV wasn't cutting it.  I looked at Landon and said, "Hey, let's go to the playground.". I could tell he totally wanted to go...not.  Nintendo DS, remember?  I think I was more interested in getting fresh air than anything. But, once he got into the groove of jumping from mushroom to mushroom, he had fun.  He met a friend while he was there, too.  Does that shock anyone?  His new friend was cute and obviously a patient, sporting his very noticeable hospital arm band.

The End.

Kidding.

Well, I guess I should get on to the more important stuff.   I am proud to say that Liam has normal hearing. No hearing loss here, baby! But, this leaves puzzle pieces scattered all around for us. We still don't know what is going on with Liam.  Our next stop on the calendar is an Orthopedic and a Geneticist.  Hopefully we can dig a little deeper to weed more things out, or better yet, find out what it is!   Oh yes, and I must throw this in.  I got a phone call confirming the appointment for my specific time.  We were told the sedation would take place at 8am and to arrive at 7am.  When we arrived at 7am like good little boys and girl, we were told that the appointment wasn't until 9am.  A two hour wait with two grumpy, half asleep kids and an overly tired husband was not on my list of things to do today.  I was honked off, big time.  All I could think of was face palming myself, or better yet, the girl at the registration desk who gave me the bad news.  Can you believe they got the times wrong?  Nevermind, don't answer that question.

You want to know how tired I was this morning?  I left my coffee at home.  *gasp*  And, I packed everything but my seven-year-old's shoes.  *faint*  I had to dress him while he was asleep and I forgot to have Landon slip his flip-flops on.  Funny thing?  We were in Kentucky.  We totally fit right in.  Okay okay, not funny.  I know.

Meet sanity in a cup.  It was love at first sip.

Liam did not, I repeat, did not like the BP arm piece.

My fresh air moment = Landon's "Wow, good idea, Mom!" moment.

See?  I do exist.

What do ya know, here I am again!  Bribery is wonderful thing.

All done!  Ready to go home.  And, somehow I made another appearance.  Man, I'm good.

  2. I love how you turn what could have been a very boring experience into an entertaining story. On the one hand, I'm glad there's nothing wrong with Liam's hearing (my mom still tells me about how she worried about my hearing when I was little), but I hope you'll figure out what the deal is.
