Finally, some decent weather to enjoy with our loved ones. Coming out of winter and the temps getting higher makes this mama happy. Simply because we are no longer in hibernation and the kids don't feel so bored or depressed being trapped inside. It's definitely a happier time of the year for everyone. We had quite a few random things going on during the spring season.
I went through my mom's stuff that she had left behind at our house we put in our storage areas. It was mainly clothes and knick knacks, but some were bigger items like Tiffany lamp shades and home decor. I made plans with my sisters and my aunt to take pictures and send items through text. One of my sisters lives in South Carolina so it just made things easier. They would then tell me if they wanted the item or if they were passing. I put all of their wants in their respective piles and collected until I was finished going through all of the items. This took quite a few days. If they wanted the same thing they would have the option to give the item up to the other person or we would draw a number and they would guess a number closest to that number drawn to make it fair. A lot of the time they would give it to the other person, and it seemed to go really well. The items left over either went in a yard sale or it was donated. It was very daunting, but Aaron and I were happy about making more space in our home for our belongings, so it was worth it in the end.
Aren't these lamp shades gorgeous? I'm sure they are worth a pretty penny.
I can't remember if I mentioned this or not in a pervious blog spot, but Liam loves pancakes and waffles. I'm more of a waffle girl because I prefer the texture. He is eating a little more variety every day and I'm here for it.
Spring can be warm during the day and still bring those cool nights to the table. When this happens, we like to light a fire and roast marshmallows before it gets too warm to do so. It's very cozy and relaxing and a family favorite.
Sometimes, just sometimes, the on-the-go teen takes naps. Definitely a rarity.
Neighborhood friends coming over for games of badminton and volleyball is always a great time.
Cleaning cars after a nasty winter is almost mandatory to get all of the salt off of your paint. Landon is pretty good about letting us know that he needs things done, from lightbulbs to airing the tires. He even asks us to help with washing his car.
