Oh, the holidays. The most stressful, yet magical time of the year. Since both boys know the "secret" it has been a little less stressful trying to be sneaky about gift-giving and Santa. There's a part of me that misses it but having both kids know is really nice. Now we can talk about money and budgets, and they help put gifts under the tree the night before. We even open a gift on Christmas Eve. No waiting until everyone is asleep and feeling sleep deprived (we have night owls in our house *yawn*). My mom fell asleep one year and forgot to put the presents out, so I didn't want to do that to my kids. I wasn't trying to put my kids in therapy. It was fun and exciting while it lasted, but exhausting for this early crasher of a mom.
Oh, Landon came home early from AIT to surprise us (this month). We weren't prepared so when he walked in, we didn't realize it was him that walked past us. It was such a funny moment, and we were thrilled!!
Christmas is pretty much the same in our house. The boys sleep in (this is nice, too). I make coffee and chill out for a little bit. Then when the crotch goblins start to wake up, we gather everyone for opening presents and rummaging through stockings. Then, if we feel up to it, we'll make breakfast while the kids enjoy their new goodies. I think everyone had a nice Christmas in our house.
