We had grandparents, we had cake, we had gifts and we had one happy 18-year-old. What more could you ask for? Landon is always chill. He doesn't ask for or need much. He did, however, start to get hot and changed his clothes about half way through their visit. He came out and modeled what he picked out and proceeded to explain why and how he picked them out. He's a nut. We all laughed and snapped a picture.
It's hard to believe that this guy is going to be graduating in no time at all and prepping to go off to college (wherever that may be). Whoa. Time flew. So not fair. Can we please go back to his toddler years? Just for a little while? I miss his little voice and him finding his independence. I miss trips with me to the bathroom for his "learning time". I miss watching his little face light up at Christmas. Obviously I miss a lot and I'm sure there will be a lot more of those "misses" as he grows. In ten to twenty years, I'll miss him living with us and fixing him meals, or even picking up his clothes. I don't think it will ever end, to be quite honest.
But, here we are. I'll just have to embrace the now and cherish those incredibly sweet memories while looking forward to our/his future. And, of course, making new memories together.
