When we first moved into our home back in the spring of 2017, part of the deal was they were to leave the playset. Mainly because Liam was still at that age where he was still interested in playing on it and he came from one at our old house. We thought it would be good for him to have, thinking it would make his transition to a new home a little easier. It did. We updated it and held on to it for as long as we could until he finally said he wasn't interested in the playset anymore. There comes a point in time where adjustments or improvements need to be made. So, we did. A once staple of our property was to be taken down. Was it bittersweet? Yes. One part of us, the sentimental part of us, didn't want to touch it and the other part of us, the homeowner side of us, was ready for it to go to expand our yard. It will be missed...a lot. I miss the giggles and belly laughs from the kids as they played. The who-can-swing-the-highest contests. It was sad, but some good things come to an end. And it was time. Now we have a tree close to where the slide ended. We desperately need shade on that side of the house.
