No. 15 at Home
Funny story, and maybe even a parent fail on my part. My plan was to wait to get Landon a phone until he started driving. Well, come to find out, Landon doesn't want to drive, nor does he want a car. Weird. I bit the bullet. I shopped online and found a compatible phone with our network. I guess I didn't read the fine print when it said it can't be connected to said network. Boo. At any rate, he was excited to open a box that had a phone in it. He hugged us tightly, said thank you, and then I went to charge the phone. Well, the more we sat on it and then looked things over, that's when we discovered we couldn't use it. To be sure, we ran to the store to get information. Turns out, we were right. No can do. I needed an upgrade anyway since my phone wasn't holding a charge, so I shopped around. I came across a deal on an iPhone XR. They were having a buy one get one sale. A light bulb went off and suddenly realized that I was about to become someone's favorite parent. We talked to Landon about just using the phone to play games, but with this deal we had no choice but to put him on our plan. He was patiently waiting for us to come back home and then I pulled it out. The thing that was going to win me brownie points for the next decade, or two. The one thing he was super excited about...an iPhone XR. He about fainted, but before he did, he hugged me so tight (tighter than before) and wouldn't let go. Someone was happy. Very happy. And very grateful. I think he even teared up a little and he couldn't stop smiling. We knew we did the right thing. Happy Birthday, buddy. Mama loves you.
